So...I know we just returned from Rekindle and I haven't posted on that yet, but our trip a few weeks before to the mountains was too fun not to share about. And I had this post all ready and in the hustle and bustle of leaving for Rekindle forgot to hit "post".
Valentines Day weekend we took a 4 day trip to the McCoy's Cabin with our good friends the Blackburns. We has planned the trip weeks before hoping to take the kids to the Mt's to see snow...and we got 70 degree weather! We weren't complaining though!
Abigail and Anna Cate were super cute babies together...
Above is the amazing view from the cabin and our amazing friends, Chris & Eileen with their 3 kiddos (we were trying to figure out when we all the sudden grew up and now have 5 kids between out two families!)
Best Buds: Alathea, Avery & CJ
OK, this picture needs some explaining:
The guys were out "hunting" and Eileen and I were happily talking, thinking how nice it was that all 5 kids were sound asleep, especially considering that the three big kids were sleeping in the same room. Eileen, being the very wise Mom that she is, thought this was too good to be true and went upstairs to check on the 3 year olds. Well...they certainly were not sleeping. They had (very quietly) found the door to the attic and in their a box of cleaning supplies, paper plates & coffee filters. They then "painted" the entire room- floors, windows, walls, beds- with soft srub, and dapped a drop on every single coffee filter and plate. It was quite a sight to see. This picture is a sorry representation for sure! The guys noticed the windows were completely white from down the hill outside it was so bad! After cleaning up the mess and getting the kids showered, etc, we did have a good laugh!Every day we'd drive the mule down the Mt's to a gorgeous water fall on the property. It was stunning! The kids (and myself, I must confess), loved driving around in the back of the mule.
It was super-fun trip! We are so grateful we went and hopefully will again soon. And the best part by far was spending time with our friends. Christopher and Joe go WAY back, like to high school. Now they are both married, have kids and Christopher and Eileen help us with one of the M28 college care groups. They are amazing examples of godly parents and SO fun to be with! We are so blessed to also have kids that love to be together too!
